About the Project

Hi there! I'm Irwin, the developer and maker behind LazSpot ToolBox.

This whole project started out of pure necessity in the workshop. I was working on a design and needed a box with a lid that fit perfectly. Searching online, I couldn't find anything that let me adjust the kerf precisely for my 22W Sculpfun, nor anything that adapted well to real variations in MDF thickness. The joints were either too loose, or I had to reach for the sandpaper.

Instead of spending late nights fighting with nodes manually, I decided to program my own generator. What started as a quick script to get my own cuts done (and a way to write some code while my dog kept me company) ended up growing quite a bit. I realized that the same tools I was missing were exactly what other workshops needed to stop wasting hours in front of the monitor.

Little by little, I kept coding and adding the solutions I felt the community was missing. Today, ToolBox is an ecosystem divided into four main areas:

1. Structural Vector Generators

Forget about calculating tolerances by hand. You enter the measurements, and the code gives you the SVG ready to cut:

  • Modular Boxes: Generators with Finger Joints and Tab & Slot assemblies to create super-strong containers.
  • Circular Box: Ideal for creating perfect cylindrical boxes with lids, calculating material flexibility.
  • Living Hinge: Automatically calculates the necessary cuts so that MDF or acrylic can bend without breaking.
  • Special Projects: Custom money bank generators, boxes with dividers (grids) perfect for organizers, and base-mounted figure creators to build displays instantly.

2. Design and Conversion Tools

  • LBRN to SVG Converter: Free your designs. If you have a file trapped in LightBurn's native format, this tool converts it to a universal SVG to use in any program.
  • Vectorizer: Quickly transform images into vectors ready for engraving or cutting.
  • Color Palette: Utility to plan the finishes of your pieces or post-cut painting projects.

3. Workshop Finance and Management

Design is only half the job; the other half is making the workshop profitable:

  • Price Calculator: Break down your material costs, machine wear, and labor hours to know exactly how much to charge per minute or per project.
  • Quote Generator: Create clear and professional quotes to send to your clients.
  • Digital Envelopes: A tool to manage your budget, separate your profits from operational costs, and keep your business finances healthy.

4. Vector Gallery and Productivity

  • Ready-to-Cut Vectors: A library tested on the laser bed, from themed boxes and organizers to complex buildable models like dragons.
  • My Notes: An integrated space for you to save your favorite cutting parameters (speed/power according to the material) or ideas for future projects without leaving the platform.
